Your experience TOTALLY parallels my own--from being a Westernized African kid with an ambivalent relationship to African identity to the 1990s cultural awakening spurred by (among other things) Wong Kar-Wai, Zhang Yimou and Chen Kaige to the passionate commitment to African modernity (and futurism). (not to mention the devout Andrew Dosunmu worship) I knew there was a reason this blog grabbed me by the heart the very first time I set eyes on it! Interetsting….
